Macro makes privacy the default, not a mode you have to remember to enable.

### <mark style="color:purple;">Always Private</mark>

Traditional browsers have "private mode." Macro operates privately by default:

* No browsing history tracking
* No search query logging
* No autofill data collection
* No telemetry or usage analytics

You don't toggle privacy on and off. It's always on.

### <mark style="color:purple;">Privacy Profiles</mark>

Privacy isn't just about hiding from websites—it's about compartmentalizing your digital life.

#### <mark style="color:purple;">How Profiles Work</mark>

Each Privacy Profile operates as a separate universe:

* **Isolated cookies** - Sites can't track you across profiles
* **Separate wallets** - Your degen wallet stays separate from work
* **Independent permissions** - dApp access in one profile doesn't affect others
* **Distinct browsing history** - Each profile maintains its own history (if you enable it)

#### <mark style="color:purple;">Common Profile Setups</mark>

**Work Profile** - Professional accounts, business tools, client communications. Clean identity for work contexts.

**Degen Profile** - High-risk DeFi, new protocols, speculative trades. Isolated from everything else.

**Anon Profile** - Privacy-first browsing, sensitive research, whistleblowing. Maximum privacy posture.

**Shopping Profile** - E-commerce isolated from financial and crypto activities.

### <mark style="color:purple;">DeGoogled Core</mark>

Macro is built on Chromium, but all Google services are removed:

* No Google Safe Browsing (replaced with privacy-respecting alternatives)
* No Chrome Web Store telemetry
* No Google account sync
* No hidden Google API calls

Privacy from the foundation up.

### <mark style="color:purple;">Data Exhaust Protection</mark>

Every site you visit tries to track you. Macro stops it:

* **Tracker Blocking** - Native protection against third-party trackers
* **Fingerprint Defense** - Randomizes browser fingerprint to prevent tracking
* **Cookie Isolation** - Per-profile cookie jars prevent cross-site correlation
* **Referrer Stripping** - Sites don't see where you came from

### <mark style="color:purple;">DNS Privacy</mark>

DNS queries leak what sites you visit. Macro protects this:

* DNS over HTTPS (DoH) enabled by default
* Privacy-first DNS providers (Quad9, Cloudflare)
* VPN-routed DNS when Mesh VPN is active

Your browsing stays private at every layer.

### <mark style="color:purple;">What Gets Stored Locally</mark>

Macro stores minimal data, and only locally:

**Per-profile (if enabled by you):**

* Bookmarks
* Saved passwords (encrypted)
* Browsing history (within that profile only)

**Never stored:**

* Cross-site tracking data
* Telemetry
* Usage analytics
* Search queries sent to external servers

You control your data.

***

Private by default. Private by design.
